Caregiver admits to putting poison in elderly couple’s cigarettes

Tina Young, 37, (main) admitted to police that she tried to poison the couple’s cigarettes at their home in West Chillisquaque Township. The Montandon woman was an in-home health assistant to 73-year-old Cheryl Mench (top inset) and her husband, 80-year-old Albert Mench. According to court documents, Cheryl hired Young to take care of her husband. She learned that the caregiver had forged a check for $2500 to pay her rent.
